The Annual Conference of APQN (Asia Pacific Quality Network) on the topic “Has external QA made an impact? Looking back at the decade of quality assurance” was held on 7 and 8 April 2013 in Chinese Taipei. During the conference, special attention was paid to problems of the impact of the European quality assurance system on higher education institutions, innovations in the field of quality assurance and academic mobility, regional and international accreditation, national and world rating, internal quality assurance and students involvement in this process. 

The Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating was represented by the manager of International projects, Timur Kanapyanov. Within one of the panel session of APQN Mr. Kanapyanov presented a paper entitled “Educational Accreditation – Kazakhstan Realities” (co-authored with Marina Skiba and Rimma Seidakhmetova). 
At the same time the Annual General Meeting of APQN members was held at which there were heard the 2012 Annual Report of APQN and future prospects of APQN activity.
