From 12 to 15 December, 2012, the External Expert Commission (EEC) of Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR) worked in the S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University. This visit of Commission was carried out in the framework of institutional accreditation. The Commission was composed of domestic and foreign experts. The EEC Chair was Doctor of Medical Sciences, the Head of Department of children diseases №1 of Astana Medical University Ms. Morenko Marina Alekseevna.
In addition, in the work of EEC were involved prominent foreign experts: Senior Advisor of World Federation for Medical Education, Professor Christensen Leif (Denmark, Copenhagen); Senior Advisor of World Federation for Medical Education, Professor J?rgen Nystrup (Denmark, Copenhagen).
Kazakhstan's education system were represented by the following experts: Candidate of Medical Sciences, the Head of Department of clinical pharmacology and evidentiary medicine of Karaganda State Medical University Kaliyeva Sholpan; Doctor of Medical Sciences, expert of Center for Medical Education Farida Nurmanbetova.
Interests of employers were represented by the Director of Medical Center “Asmed” Bizhigitov Zhaksybai. Representative of learners was a student of Kazakhstan-Russian Medical University Dinara Kamaliyeva.
EEC during its work assessed quality of education, compliance of the learning process with the institutional standards of IAAR, met with professors, teachers, students, alumni and employers, explored the internal regulations, analyzed activities of the University, visited classrooms, laboratories, computer rooms, library, evaluated the compliance of material base and information resources of University to standards of institutional accreditation.
By results of the carried out expertize the Commission rendered positive conclusion and made the recommendation about accreditation of the S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University for a period of five years.
The decision on accreditation of S.D. Asfendiyarov Kazakh National Medical University will be taken at a meeting of the Accreditation Council of the IAAR.
