In December 4-6, 2012, in the framework of institutional accreditation the External Expert Commission (EEC) of Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR) visited the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory. The Commission was composed of domestic and foreign experts. The work of EEC was coordinated by its Chair – Vice-rector on educational and methodical work of T. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts Aldambergenova G.T.

Besides, in the work of EEC following prominent foreign experts were involved: Vice-President of the Association of European Conservatories, the Head of Department at the Higher National Conservatory of Music and Dance of Paris (CNSM) Gretchen Amussen (France), Rector of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre Peep Lassmann (Tallinn, Estonia), Doctor of Psychological Sciences, professor, Vice-rector of the Russian Gnesins Academy of Music Dina Kirnarskaya. Kazakhstan's education system were represented by the following experts: Head of Department of the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University Kirillova G.R., Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Skiba M.A. (Turar Ryskulov Kazakh Economic University, Almaty).

Interests of employers in the EEC were represented by the director of Abay Kazakh State Opera and Ballet Theatre, the honored worker of Republic of Kazakhstan Mr. Nesipbaev G.T. Representative of learners was a student of T. Zhurgenov Kazakh National Academy of Arts Zhalmagambetova A.E.

EEC during its work assessed quality of education, compliance of the learning process with the institutional standards of IAAR, met with professors, teachers, students, alumni and employers, explored the internal regulations, analyzed activities of the Conservatory, visited classrooms, laboratories, computer rooms, library, dormitory, evaluated the compliance of material base and information resources of HEI to standards of institutional accreditation.

By results of the carried out expertize the Commission rendered positive conclusion and made the recommendation about accreditation of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory for a period of five years.

The decision on accreditation of the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory will be taken at a meeting of the Accreditation Council of the IAAR.
