The seminar on “Objectives and perspectives of accreditation of educational organizations in Kazakhstan” was held on 31st May 2012 in the hotel «Rixos» conference hall in Astana. This seminar was attended by the following representatives of national and foreign independent agencies: Colin T?ck, Director of the European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR) Secretariat; Sholpan Kalanova, a scientific adviser of the Independent Kazakhstan Quality Assurance Agency in Education (IQAA); Rimma Seidakhmetova, a scientific adviser of the Independent Agency for Accreditation and Rating (IAAR); Barbara Reitmeier, Coordinator of the Accreditation, Certification and Quality Assurance Institute (ACQUIN, Germany); Dietlinde Kastelliz, Officer of the Austrian Agency for Quality Assurance (AQA, Austria). 
In the framework of the seminar the first session of the Republican Accreditation Council under the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan was held, where the main issue was the adoption of a list of accreditation agencies for inclusion to the National Register 1.

 

For the inclusion to the Register the applications were submitted by the following agencies:

 

 

Applied Kazakh agencies IAAR and IQAA, European and American agencies AQA, ASIIN, ACQUIN, ABET have fully complied with the Rules and Requirements for National Registers of Accreditation Institutions.

According to the Rules and requirements for National Registers of accreditation institutions an open vote was taken and by a simple majority vote of the members of the Republican Accreditation Council the list of accreditation agencies for inclusion to the National Register was approved. To the National Registers 1 were included two Kazakh agencies – IAAR and IQAA and four foreign agencies – ACQUIN, AQA, ABET и ASIIN e.v.
