The International Seminar UI GreenMetric was held this year on June 15 at the Kazakh National Agrarian University. The seminar was attended by representatives of 20 foreign higher education institutions from 10 countries and 50 Kazakhstan higher education institutions.
The seminar was held with the participation of Prof. Riri Fitri Sari (Indonesia), the Chairman of the UI Green Metric Ranking of World Universities, international experts from Europe, the Baltic States, the rector of the leading agrarian universities of the CIS, representatives of national rating agencies and Kazakhstan universities. At this event, IAAR was represented by the head of the information-analytical project, Mrs. Myrzagaliyeva A.Kh.
The aim of the seminar was to create a national and international dialogue platform on the formation of "ecological" infrastructure in Kazakhstan higher education institutions, attracting the attention of the academic community to solving environmental problems on campus, saving energy, water and forming environmental attitudes. In addition, the issues of transfer of new technologies in the field of livestock products, crop production, introduction of new technologies in agriculture were discussed.
The University of Indonesia is the initiator of the policy of educating employees and students of universities of environmental culture to the environment. This is the first and only rating that measures the commitment of each student and university employee in developing an "ecological" infrastructure. This rating has been published since 2010. The aim of the rating is to draw attention to energy and water conservation, waste recycling and environmentally safe transport, combating global climate change and educating the environmental consciousness among young people.
As a result of the conference, a joint resolution was adopted and certificates were handed to the participants of the event.
